Presencia de lo Invisible/ Presence of the Invisible
My approach to this concept started with research into family immigration narratives. These stories deal with themes of separation, reunion, humor, and loss.
The mural is a snapshot of a girl who was separated from her family and is in search of them with the help of her mystical coyote.
This art project is a practice in opening up discussions into our own origin stories and hopefully draw attention to the inhumane treatment of people only looking for a safe place to land.

" A Neighborhood Perspective", reflects the history and the lifestyle of the people residing in The North Atlantic Corridor area. The mural transitions from agricultural fields into a modern view of the Atlantic Corridor, representing the development throughout the years. As well as the many immigration changes that has transformed it into a multiracial and multi-ethnic neighborhood.
Here are pictures of the mural. It shows the progress of the mural. I will be adding more pictures as the mural progresses. Mural located at 5660 Atlantic Ave. Long Beach, CA.

COMMUNITY MURAL PROJECTS
Murals are a personal and public cultural investment. These large art pieces are the collective hard work of community organizations, institutions, cities, and artists.
When producing a public mural; the goal is to create work of art that resonates the style of the artist while incorporating community participation into the process.
The public murals I work on have to take on and meet the public face to face. Whether it is in the planning or execution of a mural, involving community members ensures the longevity of the work while fostering the personal investment community their work of art.
