Community Screen Printing Workshop at the Museum of Latin American Art

I was invited by Órale and MOLAA to teach an Art and Activism Poster workshop, specifically designed for communities that historically may not have had access to the arts. In collaboration with museum staff, we set up a screen printing workshop focused on the theme of community advocacy.

The workshop served as an introduction to screen printing, requiring no prior experience. Participants had the opportunity to explore emulsion-free screen printing using a paper stencil technique. Working in groups, we brainstormed ideas for the posters and learned how to create simple stencils. The participants then used these paper stencils, adhering them to screens with glue sticks, to create their own screen-printed posters.
